Research Lab

Research that survives the room

A decision worth millions deserves a method that holds up. Everything in this lab is built the same way: rigorous, reproducible, and grounded in public data anyone can check. I publish the work, not just the conclusion — because analysis only earns trust when someone can take it apart and watch it stand.

EV Pulse NC

North Carolina has $109M in federal EV-charging funds to place, and every dollar has to be defended. EV Pulse NC is my five-phase analytical pipeline for deciding where it should go — scoring all 100 counties on a NEVI Priority Score that balances charging-infrastructure need against Justice40 equity goals, built on 8,000+ vehicle-registration observations. It took 2nd place at the FSU MBA Showcase 2026.

PWC vendor analysis

The Fayetteville Public Works Commission — the municipal power and water utility — had a fragmented vendor list and decisions waiting on it. I turned it into an audited, decision-ready dataset across 295 vendors, surfacing that 65.4% of vendor records were missing HUB-certification status: the single biggest data-quality gap in the file. The lasting value is the work behind that result — a careful, repeatable process for cleaning and auditing the data so the next decision starts from solid ground. Every identifiable vendor detail is anonymized in everything published.

Lodestar

Lodestar is a working agentic AI assistant for HBCU students — one I rebuilt from the ground up myself. It doesn't just answer; it decides when to reach for sources, then grounds its responses in a real knowledge base using hybrid retrieval, so guidance is anchored in fact instead of guesswork. It's model-agnostic (Claude by default) and runs as an MCP server right inside Claude Desktop. Lodestar grew out of IgniteAI, the GPT-powered career assistant my team built when I led it to 1st place at HP's Future of Work Accelerator in 2024. A hosted build is live — you can try it.

Shipped and running

Beyond the analyses, I build and run live platforms. Lodestar's hosted build serves students today, and marian.sanyer.org runs the web platform I built for a twelve-session study program at my parish in Raeford, NC. Different audiences, same discipline: ship something real and keep it running.

More in progress

The lab keeps growing. My research into North Carolina's EV infrastructure continues at the statewide level, and new work moves here as it's ready to stand on its own.

Let's talk

If you're placing capital where the method matters as much as the answer, let's talk about the analysis that defends it.
